Hey 2002! How you doin’? For those of you that were regular watchers of TRL way back when probably noticed a lot of similarities between the Biebz’ new video & *NSYNC’s video for “Girlfriend.” Take a look below.
I commend the Biebz for wanting to get his “swaggy” on in Justin Timberlake’s shoes; if there’s a pop star’s career that one would want to emulate, it would be his. And I think it’s fairly obvious that he wants to impact pop music the way JT has. I think that’s fine. I’m all for some amazing pop music. However, we can’t all bring sexy back. I think if he truly wants to leave a mark on pop music the way JT did, the Biebz is going to need to step it up and be innovative. That includes music videos.
That said, I can’t even front, this song is the jam.
